Local businesses will be able to gain an insight into London Luton Airport's (LLA) procurement process at a special event next month, to help them compete for contracts.
The "How to Bid for Contracts" event also includes a networking lunch and aims to give participants a full understanding of LLA's procurement rules and processes through a series of presentations and workshops.
The half-day event takes place at Putteridge Bury Conference Centre on Wednesday 7th November between 9.00am and 1.30pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Gain an understanding of the procurement processes and rules at LLA
- Understand LLA's tender documents better
- See the evaluation model in action and gain insight on common mistakes
- Receive top tips for tendering and how to improve bids
- Receive information on how to be a sustainable business
- Attend a networking lunch
Terry Gittins, LLA's Procurement Manager said: "Over 30% of our supplier base is local and we want that to continue as we grow. It's good for the local economy and it's good for the airport as we get a continuity of supply and faster response times and a more varied supplier base. The event is about encouraging local suppliers to bid for contracts at the airport and to help them understand what's required from our tendering process."
The tendering event is just one of the ways LLA supports local businesses. As the airport celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2018, it will be publishing a new Responsible Business Strategy which will set out its vision for the next five years, ensuring the airport makes a positive contribution in every area of its work.
Tickets cost £36.50 (plus £3.43 booking fee) per person and any profits will be donated to our charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.
